Hi, when I was checking the list above I was missing German (German), since there only seem to be German (Austria) and German (Switzerland). Could you let me know what the values for German (German) is?
Hey Edwin!
German is the 6th line down from the very top, between Danish and German "Austria".
HI, is there a time line to fully support Hebrew for Admin & Agent
Support portal ?
Hello Itzik,
The Hebrew agent support is currently beta, but we do not have a firm timeline for the RTL full support at this time. You are welcome to participate the beta program. Please let us know.
Thank you,
Yoko
Hi,
Could someone let me know if there is an approximate date for Arabic to be made available on the agent interface?
Thanks,
Andreas
Hello Andreas,
We don't have the set general availability date for the Arabic agent interface support at this time. If you'd like to participate our beta program, please send us a support request to us.
Thank you,
Yoko
Hello!
I am currently working on an integration of Zendesk help articles with our software and noticed something about the list of language codes; we have an Irish instance of Zendesk and the API call to check the configured locales returns en-GB and en-ie. The latter is not on this list of languages.
Is there a resource available from Zendesk that details all currently available languages with their language codes?
Thank you in advance!
Kind regards,
Cornelius Kopp
Hello Cornelius,
If I trust this article with the language codes I see that the en-ie is only available for Help Center, but we surely have a documented list of all language codes and what channel they are available for.
https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203761906-Language-codes-for-Zendesk-supported-languages
I hope this helps.
Hi,
For our website we are using the HelpCenter widget. Even though our website is bi-langual, the widget will always be in Dutch.
Everywhere I read that the widget can automaticly detect the language of the browser/website, but somehow it won't. So when our French customers uses the widget, it won't give them any articles or help in their language.
Is there a way to make the widget bi-lingual?
Colin
Hi Colin,
Thank you for your question. I'm creating a support request for this so we can help you troubleshoot.
Thanks!
Yoko
Hi Yoko,
If a language has "No Agent & Admin Support" that means it is not possible to set up the Agent UI in that language, correct? And we would not be able to create reports in that language? (Vietnamese)
Thanks,
Krys
Hi Krys,
You are correct. Any features for agents & administrators, like reports, are not available in Vietnamese.
Thank you,
Yoko
Hi Yoko,
I'm puzzled by the last 5 columns in the table. Does a No mean that the feature cannot differentiate or be used with that language? e.g. Chat would not work with en-UK, but would with en-US? And if so, what language would the feature default to, for example in the UK chat example?
Also, the table seems dated. For example, if I go Admin --> Setting --> Account --> Localizations --> Additional Languages I see many more English variations than included in the table, e.g en-IE, en-NZ, en-AU, etc.
Thanks,
Scott
:
Thanks for reaching out, Scott!
Those last five columns are indicative of whether or not the feature can be used in that particular language. In reviewing Language Options in your Support instance it seems the language options are English, and then more varied options such as English (Belgium) or English (South Africa).
In the event your language selection is listed as 'No' it would default to the Account Selected Language in Support.
I can agree that the languages listed above may not cover the full gamut of available languages. I will get in touch with our Documentation team to see if an update would be in order.
Hi!
For our support help desk, we would use Zend Guide in Slovenian language. Problem is, that translations are not fully translated - some words are in Slovenian, some in English language. Does Zend allow to manualy translate missing translations? Even that, some translations (Slovenian) aren't correct.
Thank you, best regards
Hello Andrej,
At this time Slovenian is a crowd sourced language in Zendesk which means we do not provide any translations for it and the translations you see in the UI are coming from crowd-sourced translators helping with the strings.
If you notice errors with the translation or missing translations please submit a ticket to us and our localization team can work with you to improve the translations.
I see you already have a ticket open with us on this so please feel free to update that ticket with any specific strings you'd like improved translations on.
Hello,
I would like to be a volunteer translator for the Armenian Language at least for Zendesk Chat Widget.
Is this documented somewhere?
Regards,
David
If, for example, my site for Malaysia was in English rather than Bahasa Melayu how could I add an English language like EN-MY. Like English Singapore or English Irish or Australian English?
Hi David,
Thanks for your interest in helping us out with the translations! I created a ticket for you to address your request and talk about the options. We'll get back to you!
Thanks,
Sophie
Hi Oonagh,
We have a set of languages available that we can enable for you on our end and we'd be happy to enable mentioned languages for you if needed. I created a ticket for you, we'll get back to you shortly!
Thanks,
Sophie
Hi folks,
Just checking that I am understanding this correctly. So, as an example, though I'm able to create bespoke Help Centre pages for both en-US and en-GB, the web widget doesn't index/serve up en-GB content to the end user who are looking for help on-site?
If that is the case, is there a workaround for this so that we don't have to provide guidance for two different sites/experiences in a single article?
Cheers,
Timo
I have the same question as Timo, but want to add: with the planned merging of help/chat widget in early 2019, will it respect language, or default to en-US (our current default)? Specifically I need to know if it will work for en-GB, en-ie, en-au and en-nz?
Hey Timo and Scott!
Unless you hard-code the widget's language (as outlined here), the language should be detected by the Web Widget automatically, based on the visiting user's browser language:
Adding the Web Widget to your website or Help Center
Hope this helps clarify the normal behavior!
Hey Jon,
That doesn't really answer my question.
I fully appreciate how the language-detection element works on the widget. What I'm asking about is the chart in the OP above and to make sure that I understand it correctly.
According to the above chart the web widget only supports EN-US. Does that mean that content in the ZenDesk Guide created in EN-GB will never be pulled through the widget as a search result?
As an example, we have two different sites for US and UK:
From my testing of this it appears the web widget in the above scenario only serves up the EN-US content, no matter what my browser settings are. Before I spend more time testing this, I wanted to know if it's working as intended.
Thanks for your response, Timo!
I had to check with our team, and it turns out that currently the web widget only searches the en-us version of your help center (as you discovered yourself).
The good news is that we are working to expand our language offerings for the web widget, and I have informed our team in charge of that multiple variants of English should exist.
Your example helps illustrate our need, so thanks for sharing this feedback!
This article's table should be updated in the future as we add these additional variants.
Thanks Jon, appreciate the response!
Hi there,
We are looking to support an additional language in our Guide help center, but it is not a supported language (Haitian Creole). Is there any timeline for official support for Haitian Creole in Guide, or documentation on workaround best practices?
Within our market i need French for Luxembourg(fr-LU),
Can that be implemented?
There is German(de-LU), but our customers do not use that.
Hey Vincent,
Thanks for sharing your feedback! I would recommend cross-posting in our Support Product Feedback Forum which will help provide visibility to both our Product Managers as well as other users in need of the same functionality.
Thanks!
Hi! We're finding out that when on certain language pages of our site, our chat widget is in a mix of English and the other language. Can someone help look into this for us to make sure that we've set our system up correctly? Thank you!
